For the second year running James navigated for Michael Kunz on the Throckmorton
Challenge in Michael’s MG BGT. Organised by Hero the all action day comprised of 15 special tests and
some regularities at or around a former RAF airfield near Pershore,
Worcestershire, a one-time base for training Wellington Bomber crews during
World War Two, the airfield still has some of the longest runways in the UK.
Improving on last years good performance the duo achieved a class win, marque
win and a gold medal. The beautiful autumn sunshine added to the day as was the
opportunity to catch up with friends and contacts from the classic rally world.
James had a chance to hone his navigational skills before the first event of the
winter rally season - the Winter Challenge from Noordwijk to Monte Carlo which
takes place in November. Don’t forget to follow James’ blog to get day to day reports of the action. If you have the urge to compete
in classic rallies but don’t have a suitable vehicle, we know of a number of prepared and ready-to-rally
cars that are currently available.
