A regular date in the diary, James navigates for Michael Kunz on the Throckmorton
Challenge in Michael’s MG BGT. Organised by Hero the all action day comprises of
15 special tests and some regularities at or around a former RAF airfield near
Pershore, Worcestershire, a one-time base for training Wellington Bomber crews
during World War Two, the airfield still has some of the longest runways in the UK.
Improving on each years good performance the duo have achieved class wins,
marque wins and a gold medal. The beautiful autumn sunshine adds to the day as is
the opportunity to catch up with friends and contacts from the classic rally world.
The event gives James a chance to hone his navigational skills before the first event
of the winter rally season. Don’t forget to follow James’ blog to get day to day reports
of the action when he is on a rally. If you have the urge to compete in classic rallies
but don’t have a suitable vehicle, we know of a number of prepared and ready-to-
rally cars that are currently available.
