James had his busiest ever Goodwood Revival in his role of ‘Taxi’ transporting VIPs around the site. Well known passengers included Sir Stirling
Moss, Tony Brooks, Tom Kristensen and singer Will Young
As well as the epic racing there was plenty to see - in the ‘Earls Court’ display the public voted for ‘the most beautiful car in the world’, won by old friend Bill Ainscough’s spectacular 1937 Bugatti Type 57SC Atalante. A tribute to the legendary racing
driver Juan Manuel Fangio saw a grid of rare and stunning cars associated with
his career, including three spectacular Mercedes-Benz racers, plus two
Chevrolets bought over from Argentina. One of the most moving displays was to
celebrate 75 years of the Spitfire when ten magnificent machines took to the
skies.
In the feature race, some stunning driving in the wet saw Tom Kristensen and
Kenny Brack taking an superb win in the RAC TT Celebration race in the Shelby
Daytona Cobra. The meeting has an awe inspiring line-up of racing machinery
including Aston Martin DB4GT, Ferrari 250 GTO and Jaguar Lightweight E-type
amongst others, although these cars are very rare they do come onto the market but often only to those in the know. If you have a
desire to own such a rare piece please talk to me as I often have clients who
wish to sell.
