Information for Classic Car owners
Join us at the 4th Haslemere Classic Car Show and Tour on Sunday 27 May 2012 and
be part of a day filled with pre-73 classics and vintage entertainment...
Following on from previous successful years the popular Lion Green event is
growing and in 2012 we are a stand alone event with both sides of the green to
fill and so can accommodate an increased number of cars at the show.
TOUR As before there will be a limited entry, pre-booked morning tour around the
beautiful local countryside, with a stop at a place of interest. Open to all
pre-1973 type vehicles the tour will cost £15 for car and driver plus £5 per additional adult to include the route, breakfast, visit, lucky programme
and charity donation. Children under 14 are welcome on the tour for free but if
a breakfast is required a charge of £3 per child must be paid in advance. It is expected that the tour will be very
popular and as numbers will be strictly limited please get your
booking form in ASAP and we will let you know if you are successful.
SHOW A static show will be held on the green from 12.30 until 5pm. This is open to
all pre-1973 type vehicles and we are hoping to attract a wide selection from
turn of the century veterans, post war family classics, race machinery to early
70’s super-cars. There is no charge for the show but we strongly advise that you pre-register by submitting the simple booking form as this will guarantee you a place on the Green and your car will be included in
the programme and be eligible for the competitions.
There will be two fun awards, the 'best dressed' car and driver will win two tickets to a day at the Goodwood Revival, donated by Haslemere Wardrobe, so dig out those period clothes and dress to match your vehicle and the 'People's Choice' award voted by the public for the car they would most like to take home.
We are developing the vintage feel of the event and we will be encouraging
people to dress up in period style, we hope to create the feel of a traditional
vintage style fete with music and entertainment, childrens activities and
traditional food and a bar. Quality stalls will sell local produce, crafts,
art, vintage and classic car products.
